SCHEDULE

The school year at JCSA is organized into three terms: September-November, December-February and March-May, with classes from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Mondays through Fridays. Students receive an average of 12-15 hours of instruction per week. Each day is separated into two sessions, morning and afternoon to include Long Pose Drawing and Painting from Life and Specialized Classes.

Long Pose Drawing and Painting from Life is devoted to sustained investigations of the human figure from direct observation. Students will develop drawings and paintings of the figure while applying their knowledge of the separate components towards the creation of holistically organized and resolved work in oil and dry media. These courses are taught by invited professionals who have proven expertise in their fields, in addition to Co-Directors/Principal Faculty, and include:

- Structural Drawing I : the application of perspective and anatomy to the expression of the human figure
