CURRICULUM
The three-year, full-time curriculum at the Janus Collaborative School of Art is built upon sustained investigations of the human figure and visual phenomenon. Through the intensive study of theoretical components and their practical application to drawing and painting the figure from life, students become well versed in the strategies, techniques and knowledge essential to expression.
Instruction at the JCSA is structured upon combining the personal attention of the atelier within a comprehensive academic curriculum by providing the ability to work with selected artists who specialize in concentrated areas of study. While simultaneously diverse in their formal application of knowledge-based strategies, their collaborative teaching of complimentary subjects challenges and trains each student to learn the essential skills necessary for pursuing a lifelong career in the visual arts.
The JCSA is a progressive environment that is classical in its approach and methods while maintaining its goal of preparing artists for their roles within the contemporary sphere and expanding their personal vision.
